Women who read dangerously.
A book club born in 2020 from isolation, group chats, and women who needed something better to spiral over. Five years, countless hot takes, and plenty of plot-twist debates later, we’re still reading, retreating, and making it everyone’s problem.
How it started.
Born in the chaos of 2020, Novel Bitches started as a virtual book club between two sisters, Tash and Des, and their best friends, Ana and Domo, who were desperate for a little escapism, connection, and something to obsess over that wasn’t the news.
A few books in, Des made a themed goodie box for The Handmaid’s Tale — custom merch, bookish treats, the whole vibe. We posted it online, people wanted in, and suddenly our little club had the audacity to become a whole thing.
With help from Carol — Tash and Des’s mom and our official spoiler-free pre-reader — we went on to create Novel Boxes inspired by each month’s pick. Those boxes brought stories to life in a fun, bookish, slightly unhinged way, and helped grow our community into hundreds of readers and wonderfully opinionated women who love books, banter, and a well-timed plot twist.
These days, Novel Bitches is focused on what started it all: the book club, the community, and bringing readers together through unforgettable bookish retreats.
As for the name? Novel Bitches is bold, a little mouthy, and very much us. We read across genres, eras, authors, and perspectives. We don’t shy away from messy stories, heavy topics, or big feelings. Around here, every book gets a chance, every opinion gets a seat, and every gathering is made with love, sass, and just enough chaos.
A small accounting.

Tash
Mood reader extraordinaire
I love romance with deep yearning, thrillers that outsmart my ADHD brain, and characters with dark pasts and sharp tongues. I’m feral for enemies to lovers, touch-her-and-die energy, long content warnings, author playlists, and dramatic little worlds to disappear into. Annotating books, color coding emotions, moody bookshelves, rainy day reading sessions… that’s my happy place. And absolutely nothing hits like someone asking about what I’m reading; unless they’re about to tell me something equally unhinged.
Des
Epic emotional fiction
Desiree is one of the founders of Novel Bitches and firmly believes books are better with dramatic reactions and unhinged group chats. When she’s not reading emotionally damaging books filled with magic, chaos, and morally gray characters, she’s probably traveling to another Sleep Token show. Her entire personality is basically fictional heartbreak, live music, and telling herself “just one more chapter.”
Domo
Dark, savage, and deliciously unhinged fiction
Easily distracted tipsy reader. I like books dark and twisted enough to pull me back from zoning out mid chapter. Morally gray is my love language. Survivor meets wine club.
This year, we're reading the rainbow.
Every year we pick a frame. A loose, ridiculous, deeply enjoyable constraint that shapes the twelve books we read. 2026’s frame is Read the Rainbow — twelve books, twelve color-saturated covers and titles, one impossible-to-ignore stack on every shelf in the country by December.
Pull up a chair.
New books every month, bookish retreats, a livestream every other Sunday. The seat is yours.
